GORDONVILLE -- Nelson W. Ulrich, 64, of East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, May 10, 1992, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Sept. 10, 1927, at Gordonville, son of Joseph and Mabel Newburn Ulrich.
Ulrich operated Ulrich Brothers Garage here for a time, was a truck driver 20 years, and had been a Diesel mechanic with NRT Trucking Co. of East St. Louis. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church here, and served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Ulrich of Kansas City, Dennis Ulrich of Walterboro, S.C.; a daughter, Julie Wolfenkoehler of Jackson; two brothers, Harry Ulrich of St. Ann, Melvin Ulrich of Scott City; four sisters, Elsie Eggimann and Bernice Quade of Gordonville, Marjorie Medlin and Dorothy Fleek of St. Charles, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Tom Gross will officiate, with burial in Zion Methodist Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
