JACKSON - Nelson E. Sievers, 63, of Jackson, died Friday Dec. 18, 1992 at the Lutheran Home. He was born Feb. 24, 1929 at Jackson, the son of Walter and Lydia Fluegge Sievers.
He married Bonnie Brock on April 16, 1982 in Las Vegas, and she survives.
Other survivors include: his mother; a daughter, Mrs. Sheri Dost of Shawneetown; a sister, Shirley Beggs of Cape; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
He was a lifelong resident of Jackson and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mr. Sievers owned and operated Ideal Grocery from 1958-77, and the Rainbow Grill from 1968-77. He worked for the Missouri Division of Liquor control from 1978-82 and then worked for the Southeast Missouri State Department of Public Safety until his retirement this year.
Sievers was a graduate of Springfield Business College and a veteran of the National Guard.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Cracraft-Miller Chapel, with the Rev. Lawrence Eatherton officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
