ANNA, Ill. -- Service for Mrs. Nellie Murphy will be held Monday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Crain Funeral home here, with Rev. Jack Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery near Vienna.
Friends may call the Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Murphy, 90 years old, of Anna, died Friday, Jan. 11, 1991, at Union County Hospital.
She was born Oct. 20, 1900 in Johnson County, daughter of William Franklin Cates and Matilda Adeline Waters Cates.
She was a member of the Anna United Methodist Church, and was retired psychiatric aid at the Anna Mental Health center and Galesburg Mental Health Center. She retired in 1972 after 35 years of service.
She is survived by a daughter, Juanita Deming of Newington, Conn.; daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Harry Johnson of Anna; a sister, Opha Thompson of Bloomington, Ill.; brother, Charlie Cates, Vienna; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and other relatives.
