Nelda Lou Steffen woke up with Jesus on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019.

She was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Fillmore County, Minnesota, to Frank and Anna Birk, who greeted her in heaven, along with her granddaughter, Catherine.

Nelda married Wesley Steffen in Canton, Minnesota, on Sept. 16, 1961. He survives her, along with their children, Robin (Romeo) Delloro of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Nanette (Timothy) Hancock and Mark (Danna) Steffen, both of St. Charles, Missouri. Also cherishing memories of Grandma are her grandchildren, Clayton (Pernita) Hancock of Annandale, Virginia, Amanda Graven of Newport News, Virginia, Travis (Carrie) Graven of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Christopher Hancock and Sam Steffen, both of St. Charles; and her extended family of nieces and nephews and many circles of friends.

Nelda spent her life actively participating in many community organizations and her church, St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Her participation in these groups will most definitely be missed.
