Nelda Juanita Brown, 83, of Midland, Mich., died Saturday, July 26, 1997, at Stratford Village in Midland.
She was born Dec. 14, 1913, in Advance, daughter of Charles Stewart and Mayme Davis Prather. She and Chester M. Brown were married June 11, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, He died Aug. 12, 1981.
Brown was owner of Prather Farms in Stoddard and Bollinger counties. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.
The Browns lived in New Jersey from 1940-79, except during World War II when they lived in West Virginia. She resided at Chateau Girardeau from 1987-91, and the past six years lived in Midland.
Survivors include two sons, Stewart Brown of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Stephen Brown of West Windsor, N.J.; a daughter, Phyllis Sabin of Midland; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Brendan Dempsey officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
