Nancy Michelsen

Nancy Pauline Michelsen, daughter of the late Evertt Paul and Agnes Rowlett Montgomery, was born Oct. 8, 1940, in Sikeston, Missouri, and departed her life Monday, June 19, 2023, at the age of 82 years.

She was a former co-owner of Michelsen Grocery in Morley, Missouri, and a bank teller. But what she enjoyed most of all was being a mother.

Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church in Oran, Missouri, and a former resident of Oran, but currently living in Scott City.

On Dec. 7, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Michelsen in Chaffee, Missouri. He preceded her in death July 14, 2018.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Rick) Walter of Scott City and Kimberly Michelsen of Springfield, Missouri; son, Eric (Valerie) Michelsen of Omaha, Nebraska; five brothers, Homer Montgomery of Jackson, Robert Montgomery of Ohio, Cecil Montgomery of Benton, Missouri, Larry Montgomery of Cape Girardeau and Steve Montgomery of Chaffee; sister, Martha Jane McMillian of Park Hills, Missouri; five grandchildren, Natalie Walter Buell, Trent Walter, Seth Walter, Erica Michelsen Renes and Nathan Michelsen; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Funeral will then be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, with the Rev. Nathan Michelsen officiating. Interment will follow in New Morley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Trent Walter, Seth Walter, Nathan Michelsen, Matt Renes, Roy Buell and Rick Walter.
