PERRYVILLE, Mo -- Nancy Sue Berkbuegler, 80, of Friedheim passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at the Independence Care Center of Perry County Perryville. PERRYVILLE, Mo -- Nancy Sue Berkbuegler, 80, of Friedheim passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at the Independence Care Center of Perry County Perryville.

She was born March 14, 1941, in Perryville to Weldon Andrew and Helen Bernice Sander Balsman. Nancy and Arley Berkbuegler were married April 23, 1960, at Assumption Catholic Church, Perryville.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, in Perryville.

She was secretary at various local businesses and lastly she was manager at McDonalds restaurant for 20 years.

Nancy was instrumental in beginning of praying the rosary on Mondays at St. Mary of the Barrons Catholic Church. Nancy loved fishing, growing flowers, bird watching, playing Scrabble and the dulcimer. She especially enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and making meals for family gatherings on Sundays.

Survivors include husband Arley Joseph Berkbuegler of Friedheim; one daughter and three sons, Laura (Rocky) Schumer, Perryville; Timothy Berkbuegler of Friedheim, Craig (Trudy) Berkbuegler of Festus, Missouri, Terry (Shannan) Berkbuegler of Chicago, Illinois; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters, Larry Balsman of Miami, Florida, Tom (Nancy) Balsman of Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Beth Kaempfe of Ballwin, Missouri, Sharon Balsman of St. Louis, Steve (Kathy) Balsman of Memphis, Tennessee, Jan (Mike) Keefe of Fort Collins, Colorado, Deb (Tom) Vaeth of St. Mary, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Ana Mae Balsman; brother-in-law, Lloyd Kaempfe.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday with rosary at 8:30 a.m. at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St.Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Joe Geders C.M. officiating. Entombment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery Mausoleum in Perryville.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or Crown Hospice.
