ANNA, Ill. -- Myrtle A. Whitney, 72, of Anna died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1996, at her home.
She was born Jan. 21, 1924, in Anniston, Mo., daughter of Cecil and Nellie Forsythe Kidd. She and Allen Monroe Whitney were married Nov. 2, 1940, in Charleston, Mo. He died Jan. 14, 1992.
Survivors include four sons, William Whitney of Macon, N.C., Cecil Whitney of Jonesboro, Mikel Whitney of Anna, Mark Whitney of Rochester, N.Y.; five daughters, Patricia Smith of Cobden, Naomi Atwell and Rose Evans of Anna, Ruth Wells and Cindy Ott of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Ray Kidd of Charleston; three sisters, Mary Williford of Bardwell, Ky., Kathryn Johnson of Calvert City, Ky., Garnett Hinch of Manchester; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lacy Betts officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
