MOREHOUSE -- Myrtle Mae Spurlin, 87, of Morehouse, died Thursday, July 25, 1996, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
She was born June 14, 1909, at Crowder, daughter of Barney and Martha Cook Pennington. She and Marion M. Spurlin were married in November 1926, at Morehouse. He died in 1975.
Spurlin was a member of Delmo Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, James "Pete" Spurlin of Sikeston; three daughters, Frankie Haley of Scott City, Bonnie Rodgers and Julie Grubbs of Dexter; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Breeden officiating. Burial will be in Carpenter Cemetery near Grant City.
