ORAN, Mo. -- Myrtle May McClain, 72, of Oran died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at her home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1930, at Chaffee, Mo., daughter of Carl and Annie Brown Hubbard. She and Millard A. McClain were married March 1, 1946. He died Feb. 25, 1979.
McClain retired as a lacer from Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Lively Hope Church.
Survivors include three sons, Charles and Andie McClain of Oran, Bennie McClain of Scott City, Mo.; four daughters, Audrey Hosentfeld and Darlene McClain of Oran, Linda Burrell of East Prairie, Mo., Doris Baker of Brookport, Ill.; a brother, Frank Hubbard of Charleston, Mo.; a sister, Juanita Layton of Dexter, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 2 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
