ANNA, Ill. -- Myrtle E. Lowry, 83, of Anna, formerly of Kankakee, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1992 at her home.
She was born in Herrin, Nov. 26, 1908, daughter of Jack and Stella Smith Favors. She married Francis Lowry on March 14, 1924. He preceded her in death.
Lowry was a legal secretary and also a member of the Anna United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, the Union County Republican Women and the United Methodist Women organizations.
She is survived by a son, Harold Lowry, Bell Air, Md.; a brother, Andrew Favors, Auburndale, Fla.; a sister, Agnes Welch, Urbana, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
A son and three brothers, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Kankakee Chapel of Schreffler Funeral Homes with the Rev. Keith Ferguson of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kankakee officiating.
Friends may call at the Kankakee Chapel of Schreffler Funeral Homes from 4-8 p.m. today.
