Myrtle Burris, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born Jan. 2, 1908, at Egypt Mills, Mo., daughter of Charles and Margaret Rinkel Deevers. She and J.L. "Jack" Burris were married Oct. 18, 1923, in Jackson, Mo. He died Dec. 26, 1970.
Burris worked at International Shoe Co. more than 38 years. She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher more than 50 years.
Survivors include a son, Jack Burris of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Rosalie Colyer of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Red Star Church, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
