SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Myrtle Malone Alband of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ted Wimberley will officiate. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. in Trigg Memorial Acres in Cadiz, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today.
Alband, 94, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born July 20, 1902, in Stoddard County, daughter of G.W. and Carrie Dobson. She married William Bridges Malone, who preceded her in death in May 1954. She later married Bennie Alband in 1954. He died Feb. 6, 1984.
Alband had worked for a telephone company in Sikeston, and later at a millinery in Detroit, Mich. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Judy Armstrong, Steve Malone and Karen Silverthorn, all of Sikeston; a sister; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
