Funeral service for Myrtie Jane Hobbs of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Audie Long will officiate, with burial in George Cemetery near Swinton.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
Hobbs, 94, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1991, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Dec. 9, 1896, near Swinton, daughter of James W. and Susan B. Crews Jackson. She married Harry Hobbs Sept. 13, 1914. He died June 21, 1970.
The couple farmed until moving to Cape Girardeau in 1937. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ivan and Delano Hobbs; a daughter, Juanita Riggs; a daughter-in-law, Aileen Hobbs, all of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, including Veroncett Mann Gerlach of Cape Girardeau whom the Hobbs reared; 13 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, seven brothers and three sisters.
