GIDEON -- Muriel "Dolly" Leigh, 85, of Gideon died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born at Farmington April 28, 1912, the daughter of Dr. George and Ida Bell Scott Husted.
On June 19, 1938, she married John Leigh in Parma. He died May 19, 1994.
She was an English teacher at Parma High School for 20 years before retiring. She had lived in Parma for 68 years before moving to the Gideon Care Center in 1991. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Parma and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three sons, Garth Leigh of Kansas City, Dr. Lynn Leigh of Madisonville, Ky., and Kent Leigh of Vacaville, Calif; one brother, George "Jerry" Husted of Parma; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Service will be at the funeral home chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Almarie Reynolds of Lilbourn officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
