VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Service for Mrs. Maude Braden Lackey will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge with Rev. Jesse Bellamy, Rev William Winters, and Rev. John Kern officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
Lackey, 78 years old, of Pulaski, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 11, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Jan. 29, 1912, at Walpole, Ill., daughter of Ray Braden and Mable Call Braden.
She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Pulaski, and Order of Eastern Star, Caledonia Chapter, #587 of Pulaski. She was also a member of the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, #89 of Metropolis. She had previously served as past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine group at Cairo.
She was a member of the Mounds Township Class Reunion Committee, and member of Pulaski Homemakers Extension. She was a retired drug store clerk.
On Dec. 24, 1935, she married Edward O. Lackey at Cairo. He survives.
Also surviving are Steve Vick, of Morrisville, Ill., who made his home with the Lackeys a number of years; an aunt, Ella Mae Pritchard, of Vienna; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Braden, in 1937.
