EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Morris Wolford of East Prairie will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Shelby Funeral Chapel here. The Revs. Robert Burke and Virgil Hyslip will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. today.
Wolford, 85 years old, died Tuesday, April 2, 1991, at his home.
He was born March 5, 1906, in Savannah, Tenn., son of G.W. and Myrtle Miller Wolford. He and the former Ethel Mae Caperton were married Feb. 26, 1924. She died Jan. 15, 1987.
Wolford farmed and operated Wolford Grocery Store near here 20 years. He attended Pultight Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Logan and Kenneth Wolford of East Prairie; three daughters, Margie Miller of East Prairie, Barbara Henson and Robbie Wright of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Dalton Wolford of East Prairie; two sisters, Emma Jones of East Prairie, Lillie Pickett of Ledbetter, Ky.; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and two grandsons.
