May, 62, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1996, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.

She was born March 4, 1933, in Morley, daughter of Jasper Creal and Clara Carlton May. She played on the girls basketball team at Morley High School.

May moved to Columbia in 1953 from Morley. She retired as a mechanic at American Can Co. in Pevely.

Survivors include her mother of Sikeston; five brothers, George May of Hot Springs, Ark., Charlie May of Madison, Wis., Don May of Dexter, Jerry May of Morley, Thomas May of Van Buren, and a sister, Ellen Demko of Oriental, N.C.
