Moddy A. Jaco, 74, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 24, 1943, at McGee, Missouri, son of Harley and Mary Alice Carver Jaco. He and Norma Sitze were united in marriage Feb. 1, 1964, and he later married Virginia Blackwell on March 20, 1993.

Moddy was a former member of the Lions Club, Eagles Club, Marble Hill Fire Department and Bollinger County Civil Defense and attended the Cape County Cowboy Church at Gravel Hill. He enjoyed hunting and working in his workshop, but most of all he loved his family and friends. Moddy was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Jaco of Jackson; sons Tony (Bobbi Mungle) Jaco and Mark (Amy) Powell, both of Jackson; two daughters, Tanya (Philip) Gregory of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Kristi (Kenneth) Heise of Cape Girardeau; a brother Leon (Bonnie) Jaco of Marble Hill; three sisters, Ruby (late Francis) Long of Marble Hill, Connie (Ralph Rice) Graves of Jackson and Betty (late Dean) Storie of Glenallen, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren Gavin Jaco, Audrey Jaco, Chelsey Lincoln, Dylan Miller, Robert Gregory, Devin Stone, Nina Heise, EmmaLee Heise and Jacob Heise; and one great-grandchild, Remington Gragg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dalford Jaco; and infant twin sons.

Visitation will be at from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in McGee Chapel Cemetery near Marble Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cape County Cowboy Church at Gravel Hill are appreciated.
