Misty Retha Morton, 42, of Jackson passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 26, 2017, at her home.
She was born Aug. 19, 1974, in Cape Girardeau to Ralph and Retha Volz Morton. She was a 1992 graduate of Jackson High School and was employed at Modern Woodmen in Jackson.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Millersville. She was a faithful Christian and had a special gift for witnessing and ministering to children and youth.
Loving survivors include her parents, Ralph and Retha Morton of Jackson; and three siblings, Darlene (Noel) Jordan of Owensboro, Kentucky, Tammy (Andy) Stephens of Wingo, Kentucky, and Rusty (Kristy) Morton of Gardner, Kansas.
Misty was a proud and loving aunt to Lauren (Tyler) Hundley, Austin Stephens, Allison Morton and Logan Stephens. She also is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends, Brenda Houchins and Kelly Darby.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Bob Houchins, Don Estes and Wavis Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Shriners Hospital in St. Louis or Samaritan's Purse, specifically for Operation Christmas Child.
