CAIRO, Ill. -- Miok Simpson, 69, of Cairo died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her home. She was born June 16, 1944, in South Korea. She and Earl Simpson were married Sept. 5, 1972. Survivors include her husband; two children, Nicky (Laurie) Simpson of Chaffee, Missouri, and Jeff Simpson and fiancee Angie Stacy of Indiana; a brother and sister in South Korea; and many nieces and nephews...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Miok Simpson, 69, of Cairo died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her home.

She was born June 16, 1944, in South Korea. She and Earl Simpson were married Sept. 5, 1972.

Survivors include her husband; two children, Nicky (Laurie) Simpson of Chaffee, Missouri, and Jeff Simpson and fiancee Angie Stacy of Indiana; a brother and sister in South Korea; and many nieces and nephews.

Miok was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo. She was a cook supervisor with the Cairo School District more than 20 years.

Private burial will be at a later date in Mound City National Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
