CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Minnie Lee Thurmond, 51, of Charleston died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 9, 1949, at Pinhook, daughter of Hattie Wilson Simpkins Cross and the late George Simpkins.
She and William Henderson were married. She then married Carl Michael Thurmond of Charleston.
She attended East Prairie High School and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Pinhook. She was employed with the Visiting Nurses Association.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; a son, William Henderson of Columbia; a daughter, Alquenetta Henderson of Charleston; three sisters, Mary Jones and Clarise Simpkins, both of East Prairie and Camilla Patterson of Pinhook; four brothers, Larry Simpkins, Charlie Simpkins and Sylvester Simpkins, all of Pinhook; and Thomas Simpkins of Hesperia, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, four brothers and her stepfather.
Friends may call from noon Tuesday until funeral time at Shiloh Baptist Church in Charleston.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Daryl Carson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
