Funeral service for Minnie Koechig of Cape Girardeau will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. James Caughlin will officiate, with burial in St. James Episcopal Church Cemetery at Tilsit.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Koechig, 100, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 1995, at Heartland Care and Rehab Center.

She was born April 3, 1895, at Tilsit, daughter of August and Caroline Meier Peetz. She and Henry Koechig were married Jan. 23, 1921, in Cape Girardeau. He died Dec. 30, 1966.

Koechig lived on a farm north of Cape Girardeau all her life. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and its Mary Martha Circle, and charter member of Spring Valley Homemakers Club.

Survivors include a son, Marvin Koechig of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Della Kramme of Arnold, Elsie Carrington of Fulton, Meta Siemers of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.
