Milton Harold Hoffman, 90, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 20, 1931, in New Wells to William J. and Eleanor (Perr) Hoffman. Milton was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, also the church of his marriage to Fern Mildred Zwosta on April 26, 1953, in New Wells.
He was a Specialist Third Class in the Army, serving honorably from May 4, 1954 to April 14, 1956 during the Korea-Peace Keeping Era. He worked 39 years as a maintenance supervisor for MoDOT, retiring in 1993.
He was a member at St Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and a member of the Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158.
Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 69 years, Fern Hoffman of Jackson; sons, Larry Hoffman and Mark (Dawn) Hoffman of Jackson; two grandchildren, Matthew and Michelle Hoffman; and a sister-in-law, Myrtha Zwosta of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in- law, Tammy Hoffman; a step-granddaughter, Brittney Seabaugh; three siblings, Alida (Eric) Goodpasture, Helen (Willard) Petzoldt and Melvin (Gladys) Hoffman; a brother-in-law, Norman Zwosta; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Marvin) Ludwig.
Visitation is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
The Rev. Jason Shaw will conduct the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to St. Paul Ladies Aid, St. Paul Church or School or the donor's choice of church or charity.
