ST. LOUIS -- Mildred "Millie" Campbell, 92, of St. Louis passed away Friday, May 8, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Millie was born Sept. 15, 1927, to Phillip and Myrtle Schearf. She was married to Lynuel Campbell on June 9, 1948.
Millie did many things during her wonderful, rich life. She was the lunch lady at Delta High School. She and Lynuel moved to Kimberling City, Missouri, and a beautiful resort, which they ran together for many years. When they sold the resort and moved onto James River Road, Millie started working at Silver Dollar City, from which she retired. Millie and Lynuel then moved back to Cape Girardeau.
Millie was always very active and loved playing basketball in high school. She was also an avid golfer and bowler and won many trophies.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Westbrook; daughter-in-law, Cathy Campbell; granddaughters, Angie (Carl) Fitzgerald and Rhonda Campbell; grandson, Aaron (Claudia) Campbell; great-grandchildren, Kala, Connor and Cage; and brothers, Elmer and Alvin Schearf.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lynuel Campbell; her wonderful son, Richard "Rick" Campbell; and brothers, Glen, Gene, Donnie and Lloyd Schearf.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Rhodes officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau immediately following the funeral service.
