Milford Welker

Milford R. Welker, 96, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at the Chateau Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 16, 1925, in Bollinger County to the late Charley and Eva Rhodes Welker. He and Dixie Lee Shoemate were married April 29, 1950, in Advance, Missouri.

Milford graduated from Advance High School in 1943. He attended business college and worked in the business world. He retired in 1985, spending the last 32 years of his career with Jim Wilson Co.

After retirement, he and his wife, Dixie, enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time on the family farm.

Private services will be held. Burial will be at Puxico (Missouri) City Cemetery.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
