Mildred Georgia Yount, 90, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Chateau Girardeau. She was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Leadwood, Mo., daughter of Lemuel and Anna L. Ketcherside. She and William Donald Yount were married Aug. 25, 1943. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2013...

Mildred Georgia Yount, 90, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Leadwood, Mo., daughter of Lemuel and Anna L. Ketcherside. She and William Donald Yount were married Aug. 25, 1943. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2013.

Mildred accepted Christ as her savior in October 1938 and became a member of Leadwood Baptist Church. She was a bank teller at Bank of Leadwood for 30 years. In March 2000 she and Donald moved to Cape Girardeau and became members of Lynwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; a son, Grady Yount and wife Christy; two grandsons, Kirk Yount and Eric Yount and wife Krista; a great-granddaughter, Hadley Mae; three brothers, Charles and wife Kathy Ketcherside, Max and wife Mary and Tony Ketcherside; two sisters, Sue Ketcherside and Phyllis Pearman and David; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Ketcherside; and two sisters, Zelda Gambill and Ruby Hutchings.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lynwood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Leadwood Cemetery.
