Mildred Louise Younghouse, 99, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 3, 2024, at Lutheran Home.
She was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Pocahontas to Oscar E. and Elsa Gerler Rauh. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. She and Earl Charles Younghouse were married April 17, 1949, in Pocahontas.
Mildred was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and Trinity Ladies’ Aid. She was co-owner of Younghouse Distributing Co., which she and her husband started in 1949. She was an avid antique collector and dealer for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Fred (Susan) Younghouse of Cape Girardeau, Daniel (Becky) Younghouse of Albertville, Alabama, and Robert (Laura) Younghouse of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan Younghouse, Matthew Younghouse, Emily (Justin) Thorton, Elizabeth (Lee) Seal, Rebecca Younghouse, Patrick (Natalie) Younghouse, William (Whitney) Younghouse, Tyler (Riley) Younghouse, Maggie (Austin) Higley, Jordan Younghouse, Andrea Younghouse and Ashlee (fiance Grant Ward) Younghouse; two stepgrandchildren, Mike (Katie) Stiles and Lauren Stiles; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Virginia Winter and Evelyn Kasten.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the church, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or Saxony Lutheran High School.
