MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Mildred A. "Billie" Surface, 83, of Grassy, Mo. died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill.
She was born March 29, 1927, in Millersville to Ralph and Beulah Austin Webb. She and Walter Surface were married Dec. 16, 1944.
Billie graduated from Oak Ridge High School. She worked at the former International Shoe Co. and Brennecke Chevrolet in Jackson; she later was administrator for the Bollinger County Health Department and a founding board member of Cross Trails Medical Center in Marble Hill.
Billie is survived by two sons; Roger Surface of Ava, Mo., and Dean Surface of Grassy; two sisters, Maxine Friedrich of Jackson and Lucille Moser of Convoy, Ohio; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on Nov. 30, 2009.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
