SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mildred Sneed, 88, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at the home of her daughter in Greenwood, Miss.
She was born July 6, 1913, in the Hickory Grove community, daughter of James C. and Addie Joyce Foster. She and William Audie Sneed were married Aug. 9, 1948. He died Dec. 12, 1983.
Sneed was a graduate of Benton High School and had lived in Scott County most of her life.
She was deputy recorder of Scott County 11 years. She was a member of New Savannah Baptist Church near Blodgett, Mo., and served as president of Scott County Women's Democratic Club.
Survivors include a son, James Sneed of Sikeston; a daughter, Sally Lott of Greenwood; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., from 1-2 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at IOOF Cemetery near Charleston. The Rev. Todd Smoot will officiate.
