Mildred F. Pooker, 80, of Shawneetown passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 18, 1936, in Jefferson County, Missouri, to Louis and Flora Steinbach Kuhlman. She and Chester Pooker were married July 13, 1958, in Hillsboro, Missouri. They had been married 46 years when Chester passed away Feb. 14, 2005...

Mildred F. Pooker, 80, of Shawneetown passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 18, 1936, in Jefferson County, Missouri, to Louis and Flora Steinbach Kuhlman.

She and Chester Pooker were married July 13, 1958, in Hillsboro, Missouri. They had been married 46 years when Chester passed away Feb. 14, 2005.

Mildred was baptized Feb. 16, 1936, and confirmed April 2, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Missouri.

Chester and Mildred moved from Hillsboro to Shawneetown in 1997.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loving survivors include four children, Cynthia (Daniel) Redecker and Allen (Kim) Pooker of New Wells, Dale (Bonnie) Pooker of Kearney, Missouri, and Reva (John) Eichhorn of New Wells; six grandchildren, Aaron (Amy) Redecker, Jesse (Catie) Eichhorn, Ashley Pooker, Nathan Redecker, Jenny Eichhorn and Caleb Pooker; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Walter (Nelda) Kuhlman of Pittsburgh and John (Judy) Kuhlman of Mapaville, Missouri.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Kuhlman.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Lawrence Bradt officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells or East Perry County Senior Center in Altenburg, Missouri.
