Mildred Alene Tramel Moudy, daughter of Cecil and Ruby Dollman Tramel, was born Sept. 11, 1931, in Belleville, Arkan-sas. She went to her heavenly home Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee at the age of 92 years.

High school sweethearts, she and Bobby Tom "B.T." Moudy married Oct. 27, 1950, in Belleville. She was his right hand as they journeyed through dental school and co-founded B.T. Moudy Dental Office in Chaffee. She worked as business manager, receptionist and dental assistant for 40 of the 58 years the practice served the Chaffee area. B.T. survives of the home in Chaffee.

A member of First Baptist Church in Chaffee, Mildred lived her Christian faith.

She loved her Southern gospel music; her beautiful garden of peonies, buttercups, forsythia and irises; and Jesus. An accomplished seamstress, Mildred created wardrobes for her four daughters, with many of the outfits later fashioned into squares quilted by her mother.

Gathering family and friends was one of her great joys. She hosted ample feasts for holidays and made birthdays special. Her cinnamon rolls and Thanksgiving cornbread dressing were legendary. One of her greatest gifts was encouraging those she met to be their best and trust God. Romans 8:28 was her life verse, knowing that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
