Mildred Marie McQuaid, 88, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at 3 a.m. in Southwest Memorial Hospital at Fort Myers. Mildred was born Dec. 30, 1918, in Tamaroa, Ill., daughter to Henry and Elizabeth Lynch Kothe. She married Howard Lyle McQuaid March 23, 1940, in Perryville, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1967...

Mildred Marie McQuaid, 88, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at 3 a.m. in Southwest Memorial Hospital at Fort Myers.

Mildred was born Dec. 30, 1918, in Tamaroa, Ill., daughter to Henry and Elizabeth Lynch Kothe. She married Howard Lyle McQuaid March 23, 1940, in Perryville, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1967.

She was a retired packer from Hollywood Candy Co., Centralia, Ill., was of the Methodist belief and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include five sons, Lewis Lyle McQuaid of Nashville, Tenn., Vernon Henry McQuaid of The Philippines, Calvin Clyde McQuaid of Beckley, W.Va., Charles Howard McQuaid of Fort Myers, James Earl McQuaid of New Minden, Ill., two daughters, Brenda Sanders of Mount Vernon, Ill., Georgia Stearns of Jackson; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Helen Marlow; and a brother, Charles Kothe.

Graveside service will be held March 16, 2007, at 11 a.m. in Campbell Cemetery in Pinckneyville, the Rev. James Barnett officiating. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Campbell Cemetery Association.
