SIKESTON -- Mildred Louise Lyons, 64, of Sikeston died Friday, March 26 at her son's residence in Cahokia, Ill. She was born Sept. 21, 1928 in Dexter to James and Ella Lane Markland. She first married C.D. Dickerson in Dexter in 1943. He preceded her in death in March of 1968. She then married Gus Lyons in Sikeston in 1970. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1976...

SIKESTON -- Mildred Louise Lyons, 64, of Sikeston died Friday, March 26 at her son's residence in Cahokia, Ill.

She was born Sept. 21, 1928 in Dexter to James and Ella Lane Markland.

She first married C.D. Dickerson in Dexter in 1943. He preceded her in death in March of 1968. She then married Gus Lyons in Sikeston in 1970. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1976.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include: two sons, James Dickerson and Harold "Bear" Dickerson, both of Cahokia, Ill.; one daughter, Carolyn Hughes of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, L.E. "Bud" Markland of Benton, Charles Markland of Scott City, and Allen Markland of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Icess Milligan of Morley and Jean Smith of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston after 5 p.m. tonight.

Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jim Guffie, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
