EAST PRAIRIE -- Mildred L. Archie, 81, of East Prairie died Monday, July 8, 1996, at her home.
She was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Hickman, Ky., daughter of Albert and Jenny Bingham Davis. She married Raleigh J. Archie March 29, 1930. He died Aril 29, 1971.
She was a member of the Dorena Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Richard and David Archie of East Prairie, Johnny Archie of Morley, and Billy Archie, of Lakeland, Fla.; five daughters, Mary Lee Saunders of Bakersfield, Calif., Lois Cole of Martin, Tenn., Lavern Taylor of Minneola, Fla., Jean Sikes of Arcadia, Fla., and Joyce Ann Tripp of East Prairie; 34 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Chapel with Brother Lee Fansler, pastor of the Southern Baptist Church in Blodgett, officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
