EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Mildred Kruckeberg, 89, of Edwardsville died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Liberty Village in Maryville, Illinois.
She was born March 23, 1926, in Wood River, Illinois, the daughter of the late Robert and Caroline Huebner Kohlmiller.
She married Cleo Ford Kruckeberg on April 14, 1946, in Wood River. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Cleo Kenneth Kruckeberg and wife Peggy of Troy, Illinois, and Robert Kruckeberg and wife Joyce of Waxahachie, Texas; one daughter, Carol Ann Eifert and husband Sam of Jackson; a former daughter-in-law, Denise Kruckeberg of Edwardsville; grandchildren Christine Scheffel of East Alton, Illinois, Kenneth "Butch" Kruckeberg and wife Brandi of Edwardsville, Louis Eifert and wife Jennifer of Jackson, Christopher "Kit" Eifert of Jackson, Angela Eifert of Jackson, Emily Young and husband Karl of Waxahachie and Aaron Kruckeberg and wife Krista of Plano, Texas; great-grandchildren Hailey, Grace, Allison, Charlie, Matthew, Megan, Macey and Zoe; and brothers Gene Kohlmiller and wife Jo of Edwardsville and Ron Kohlmiller and wife Theresa of Edwardsville.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, George Kohlmiller.
She was a member of Frieden's United Church of Christ in Troy and a former member of the Edwardsville Moose Ladies, Madison County Farm Bureau Ladies Extension and Frieden's United Church of Christ Ladies. She had worked at the Wood River Tannery and was a housewife and homemaker.
Visitation was held Saturday at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
Funeral services were Sunday at Frieden's United Church of Christ in Troy, with the Rev. Doug Seagle officiating.
Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Midway, Illinois.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or Frieden's United Church of Christ in Troy.
