MORLEY, Mo. -- Mildred Foster Hitt, 91, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at The Palms Retirement Center in Sebring.
She was born in Brockett, Arkansas, daughter of Thomas and Rosie Uzzle Foster.
Mildred grew up in Morley, Missouri, and attended Morley High School. She married Lonnie "Jake" Hitt in Morley. They moved to Florida in 1961. Jake passed away in 1966. She lived in West Palm Beach, where she worked at various entities until moving to Eustis, Florida, in 1989.
She moved to Sebring in 2000 from Eustis. She attended First Baptist Church in Sebring and was active in Keenagers. Mildred was active in church wherever she lived beginning in Morley, where she was active in Morley Baptist Church. She was active in Victory Baptist Church while living in Eustis.
She is survived by three sons, T. David Hitt of Lorida, Florida, William Hitt of Astor, Florida, and Ralph Hitt of Hazelwood, Missouri; a sister, Edith Adams of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton, Missouri.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery at Morley.
