Mildred Mabel Emmons, 81, 304 S. Benton, died Monday, May 20, 1996, at her home.
She was born Aug. 21, 1914, at Scopus, daughter of Henry Kaiser and Maude Ellen Lincoln Angle. She and Eugene Wilson "Gene" Emmons were married June 9, 1934, at Blodgett.
Emmons worked in housekeeping at Southeast Missouri State University, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Association of Retired Missouri State Employees, Women of the Church of God, and charter member of River city Workers of the Blind.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Stanley, Colin "Mick", Donald and Kenneth Emmons of Cape Girardeau, Rudy Emmons of Jackson; four daughters, Delois Niswonger, Joyce Godwin and Mary Emmons of Cape Girardeau, Deborah Fisher of Springfield, Ill.; a sister, Blanche Winders of Wickliffe, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren, great-stepgrandchildren, and great-great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Roger Christiansen officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
