Mildred Virginia Dixon, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1923, in Jackson, Mo., daughter of Albert and Zella Shephard Wade.
Dixon attended the former Lincoln School in Jackson, and was a graduate of the former John S. Cobb High School in Cape Girardeau.
She was retired from Courtesy Cleaners. She was a member of St. John AME Church in Jackson, and served as church secretary and treasurer.
Survivors include her husband, William; a son, William Dixon Jr. of St. Louis; three brothers, Robert and Billy Wade of Cape Girardeau, Benny Wade of Jackson; a sister, Marjorie Smith of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at St. John Church from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. James Merity officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
Sparks Funeral Home at Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
