BERNIE -- Funeral for Mildred Ruth Ballard was held Monday at Rainey Chapel in Bernie. The Rev. John Talbert officiated, with burial in Bernie Cemetery.
Ballard, 71, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 24, 1927, at Whitewater, daughter of George Henry and Lou Ella Wren Fisher. She first married Cletus Cloninger Feb. 26, 1945, in Blytheville, Ark. He died March 18, 1969. She later married Edgar Ballard Nov. 21, 1970, at Bernie. He died March 18, 1976.
Ballard worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Bernie, and was a member of Calvary Cornerstone Church in Advance.
Survivors include a brother, Harold Fisher Jr. of Lake Placid, Fla.; three sisters, Evelyn Cloninger of Advance, Wanda Macke of Jackson, Barbara Scott of Sebring, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
