SIKESTON -- Mildred Parr Baker, 92 of Richmond, Va., died Saturday, July 13, 1996, at University Park Nursing Home in Richmond.
She was born June 6, 1904, in Quanah, Texas, daughter of Earnest Augustus and Ada P. Garner Jones. She first married William L. Parr Sr. in 1922, who died in 1961. She later married William Z. Baker June 1, 1967, in Sikeston. He died July 5, 1992.
Formerly of Sikeston, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, member and former officer and board member of Sikeston Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a former member of Rotary Anns of Sikeston, and was selected a Paul Harris Fellow in 1975.
Survivors include a son, W.L. Parr Jr. of North Topsail Beach, N.C.; two brothers, Nolan Jones of Quanah, E.A. Jones of Carlsbad, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles E. Buck officiating.
