BALLWIN, Mo. -- David Michael "Mike" Schmittzehe was baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, passing away Wednesday, June 15, 2022. BALLWIN, Mo. -- David Michael "Mike" Schmittzehe was baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, passing away Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

Mike was the son of Donald Eugene and Wanda Allene Below Schmittzehe.

He is survived by his sister, Susan Schmittzehe Wilcox (David Boudinet); nephew, Marshall Werner Joseph Wilcox (Alexa Clarevjo); and niece, Hilary Marshall Wilcox.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. Interment will follow immediately at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Family will host a lunch reception for friends and family from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gabriel's Food +Wine, 127 Main St., in Cape Girardeau.
