George David "Mike" Avery, 66, of Scott City died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at his home. He was born June 21, 1952, in Ancell to Harry E. and Ellodee Winemiller Avery. He was a retired trucker. He is survived by a daughter, Jodi (Daniel) Ferrell of Benton, Missouri; three brothers, Jeff Avery of Benton, Randy Avery of Farmington, Missouri, and Jimmy Avery of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Sherri Sturm of Scott City; and a grandchild, Evangeline Ellodee Ferrell...

He was preceded in death by three brothers.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church in Scott City, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating.
