Michele D. Thompson, 48, passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at her home near Burfordville. She fought cancer the past five months.
She was born June 3, 1962, in Murphysboro, Ill., to Michael "Mickey" and Judy Seibert Thompson.
Michele's secretarial skills led her to employment at Blattner Steel, Monty's Mobile Homes and the Bayou Bar and Grill.
In addition to being a "Food Network junkie," Michelle enjoyed all things outdoors, especially camping, critters, gardening and mowing.
Loving survivors include her daughter, Brandy (Jeff) Sutton and their children Elizabeth, Whitney and Michaela of Jackson; boyfriend, Jerry Aufdenberg of Jackson; her mother, Judy Adams of Herrin, Ill.; sister, Susan Jenkins of Marissa, Ill., and her daughters, Judi and Ashley McCoy of Belleville, Ill.; and a brother, Bryan (Lori) Thompson and his sons, Brandon and Landon of Patton, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mickey Thompson, on Sept. 7, 2006.
The family feels very blessed by Mrs. Margaret Aufdenberg for the graciousness she has extended to them during Michele's illness.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. At 1 p.m., the Rev. Morris Cobb will officiate the funeral service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family requests that memorials be made to Michele's Memorial Fund, c/o McCombs Funeral Home.
