NEW HAMBURG, Mo. -- Michael Emanuel Westrich, 86, of New Hamburg died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Mo.
He was born June 16, 1915, at New Hamburg, son of Joseph and Sophia Gosche Westrich. He and Betty June Walker were married Feb. 27, 1943, in Ontario, Calif. She died March 16, 2002.
Westrich was a plant engineer with Sunkist Growers. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, and VFW Post 3127 at Chaffee.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Michael K. Westrich of New Hamburg, Richard L. Westrich of Upland, Calif.; two sisters, Rose Kern and Anna Glastetter of New Hamburg; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, Mo., from 4-8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 6:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
