BENTON -- Michael N. Dirnberger, 95, of Benton Route 1, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1992 at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
He was a farmer in the Benton and New Hamburg communities all his life.
He was born Sept. 23, 1896 near New Hamburg, the son of Andrew and Catherine Dannenmueller Dirnberger.
On April 30, 1918, he married the former Coleita LeGrand at New Hamburg. She preceded him in death May 4, 1967.
He is survived by one son, Cornelius Dirnberger, Benton Route 1; two daughters, Bernice Jansen, Cape Girardeau, LaVerne Wilhelm, Scott City; one brother, Claude Dirnberger, New Hamburg; two sisters, Armella Alt, Cape Girardeau, Caudia Bucher, New Hamburg; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
One daughter and one great-great-grandchild preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church at Benton and the St. Joseph Sodality. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War I.
Friends may call today from 3-8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Funeral Home at Benton. Parish prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Denis Church with the Rev. Arthur Basler and the Rev. Philip Bucher, a nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Denis Catholic Cemetery.
