Michael Allen Mathes, 64, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 18, 1955, in Ironton, Missouri, son of Garland and Betty Lou Mathes. He and Candice Marks were united in marriage July 20, 2017.
Michael was a land developer in Cape Girardeau and surrounding areas. He was a member of Cape First Church.
Survivors include his wife, Candice Mathes of the home; mother, Betty Lou Mathes of Branson, Missouri; son, Chris (Tera) Mathes of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Kasey (Alex) Scott of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and Jayla Mathes of Cape Girardeau; brother, Mark (Tammy) Mathes of Highlandville, Missouri; sister, Debbi (Andy) Cox of Fleming Island, Florida; and grandchildren, Shaylee and Breanna Mathes and Hadessa Scott.
He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Mathes.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Friday at Cape First Church, with Pastor Gary Brothers officiating.
Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
