Michael Hopper

Michael D. Hopper, 64, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born May 29, 1950, in Sikeston, Missouri, son of the late Tennie and Mary Hastings Hopper.

Michael was a simple and caring man, often caring more about someone else and their well-being before his own. He was an avid reader and loved baseball, especially the Cardinals.

Loving survivors include his children, a son, Blake Hopper of Cape Girardeau, and a daughter, Toby Hopper of St. Louis; a brother, Sam Hopper of Virginia; and two sisters, Sue Carpenter of Cape Girardeau and Maudie Streetman of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
