Michael Irvin Garms, 64, of Jackson died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 17, 1943, in Hot Springs, Ark., son of Irvin and Dorothy Baker Garms. He and Kathie Sansoucie were married April 28, 1972, in Festus, Mo.
Garms was a former project manager with Potashnick Construction Inc. He also had worked for Fred Weber Construction Co. in St. Louis and was vice president of I.H. Garms and Sons Co. He currently was owner and operator of Rowland Oil Co. Inc. in Jackson. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathie Garms of Jackson; father, Irvin Garms of Cape Girardeau; a son, Jason (Jennifer) Garms of Jackson; a daughter, Kim (Andy) Chronister of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Ron Garms of St. Louis; a sister, Sharon (Jim) Rowland of Cape Girardeau; and a grandchild, A.J. Garms of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Centenary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Long officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
