Michael Evans Jr.

Michael Eugene Evans Jr., 34, of West, Miss., formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at University Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.

He was born Feb. 28, 1978, in Cape Girardeau, to Michael E. and Marchelle Holifield Evans Sr. He married Skylar Stokes.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jordan and Ravyn Evans; a son, Zachery Evans; father, Michael E. Evans Sr.; stepmother, Gloria J. Evans; grandmother, Alice Rendleman; a sister, Brenda N. Barrentine; two brothers, Tyler Webb and Justin H. Evans.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Michael was a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, Mo. He was an independent construction contractor in Mississippi.

Services were held July 17 at Culpepper Funeral Home in Kosciusko, Miss., and July 19 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Michael was laid to rest July 19 in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
